To disable Front Page Extensions, which unfortunately are no longer supported, if you go to:
Tools -> Page Options -> Choose the Authoring Tab -> Under FrontPage and SharePoint Technologies,
Uncheck Browse-time Web Components (The FrontPage and SharePoint Technologies automatically
change to Custom) -> OK
This will disable the Extensions so Front Page can be used to publish to the FTP.
If you get an error which states that public_html does not exist, to rectify this, a public_html folder would need to be created at the local machine. With a local public_html in place, Front Page will be able to publish to the files to the Webspace public_html.
